Museum of Photographic Arts
One of the few institutions in the country devoted to the photographic arts, the Museum of Photographic Arts houses more than 4,000 works, representing the entire history of photography, its aesthetic movements, and technological advancements. Illustrating the complex and varied history of the medium, the museum's collection is particularly strong in modern and contemporary work, specifically social documentary photography and photojournalism. The museum is also home to a state-of-the-art movie theater.
The Museum of Photographic Arts' Museum Store offers culturally rich merchandise, interactive educational materials, and affordable local artistry. Framed and unframed prints by local artists in various styles and handmade Photo Vellum lamps imprinted with A. E. Jennings' photographic work are available. Interactive gifts include specialty Holga cameras, pinhole camera kits, colored flash and fisheye cameras, gag-gift squirt cameras, and split cameras. The wide assortment of photography books highlights the museum's guest speakers and artists on exhibit. Visitors can also play dress up and snap their own black-and-white photo in an antique Model 11 photo booth. More Park Gift Stores >
