Kintsugi, or “golden joinery,” is more than a repair technique, it’s a philosophy that honors imperfections as part of an object’s history, echoing the principles of Wabi-Sabi. In this workshop, you’ll learn the cultural roots and spiritual meaning behind kintsugi, then create your own piece using a simplified, accessible version of the traditional method. The traditional method of kintsugi takes months to complete involving a unique lacquer that takes a lifetime to master. The technique used in this workshop will follow the practices behind the craft, translating it into an everyday accessible technique & a mindful practice.

All materials needed for this workshop are provided. You’ll practice two techniques to highlight the cracks in ceramic pieces and leave with a meaningful, one-of-a-kind creation that tells its own story
