Inspired by the varied stitching techniques featured in BLUE GOLD, join us for our monthly stitching workshop held in the gallery. Each month, you’ll engage in a unique project centered around the themes of stitching and indigo. All skill levels welcome.

November’s project will be darning holes. Darning holes is a traditional technique used to repair and reinforce fabric, often employing intricate stitching to mend worn or damaged areas. The visible mending created through darning with indigo threads or patches can highlight the beauty of repair, celebrating the garment’s history while showcasing the rich, vibrant tones of indigo dye.

Presented in conjunction with the Mingei International Museum’s PST ART: Art & Science Collide exhibition Blue Gold: The Art and Science of Indigo.
