Now introducing our spring exhibit: Transcontinental Railroads, opening January 4th, 2023!

The First Transcontinental Railroad opened the western part of America, allowing people to cross the nation in less than a week. This exhibit covers the legislation that was needed to approve the construction, as well as the two companies responsible for building the 1,776-mile railroad. Finally, it discusses the impact of the railroad, both positive and negative.

This exhibit will run January – June, 2023
