Located in Gold Gulch Canyon at the end of the Gold Gulch Trail, many of the plants in the Australian Garden were a gift to the City of San Diego by the country of Australia for the United States Bicentennial in 1976.

Australian native plants grow well in San Diego because our climates have similar wet and dry seasons. Plants include Grevellia, Acacia, Callistemon, Banksia, Hakea, Stenocarpus, Leptospermum, Melaleuca, and Eucalyptus.

Currently largely undeveloped, plans include improved trails, an interpretive kiosk, and a brochure.
