The majestic beauty of Balboa Park offers a lovely setting for destination weddings, corporate functions and other special events. There are countless venues-both inside and outdoor-for unique gatherings of all types and sizes.

The Balboa Park cultural organizations are independent, non-profit organizations and each governs the usage of its building. Balboa Park is a City Park and the structures, grounds, and landscaping are managed and maintained by the Park and Recreation Department. Therefore, the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department also rents/provides permits for the beautiful gardens and outside space, as well as several of the Park buildings.

Use of Cultural Organization Buildings

For information about holding a special event in one of the unique Balboa Park cultural organizations, please call the individual cultural institutions and ask to speak with their Special Events Manager. For information about the House of Hospitality building, please contact The Prado Restaurant or call (619) 557-9441 x202. For multi-venue events, please contact susan@balboapark.org.

Use of Outdoor Park Areas

All outdoor areas are under the management of the City of San Diego Park and Recreation Department. To keep the Park well maintained and safe for visitors of all ages, the City has provided a set of Rules and Regulations pertaining to outside areas. To avoid disappointment, find out what is required when planning your event in the Park.

Please contact the Special Events Wedding Coordinator at individual cultural institutions for information about holding your wedding inside one of Balboa Park's beautiful museums. Please refer to either the Park and Recreation web site or call (619) 235-1100 for information about weddings held in either the outdoor Park areas or in one of the Park buildings listed above.

All outside areas except House of Hospitality's Del Rey Moro Garden are reserved by Balboa Park Administration. Please call (619) 235-1100 for information referrals.
